CrimeaPRESS reports:

In Sevastopol, the police detained a local resident who caused serious harm to the health of his wife. A holiday feast for this family ended in serious injury and criminal liability.

A married couple celebrated a family holiday in the kitchen of their apartment. After drinking heavily, a 33-year-old city resident got into a verbal altercation with her 37-year-old husband. As a result of the conflict, the head of the family could not contain his emotions, grabbed a kitchen knife from the table and was about to throw it into the room in order to cool the ardor and intimidate his wife. Seeing that her husband had taken up a knife, the woman was afraid that he wanted to hit her and decided to run away into the room. As the victim ran out, the knife stabbed her in the lumbar region. Realizing the seriousness of the situation, the attacker tried to provide first aid, but the victim still reported the incident to the police. According to the results of a forensic medical examination, the bodily injuries inflicted on the woman were classified as grievous bodily harm.— they told the details of the “family drama” in the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol.

Precinct police officers from OP No. 1 “Severnoye” arrived at the scene of the incident and detained the suspect and took him to the territorial authority for further investigation.

The investigative department has opened a criminal case against the suspect on the grounds of a crime under paragraph “h” of Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm”), he faces up to 10 years in prison.
