What amount of compensation have already been received by Crimeans who lost their savings in Ukrainian banks

Information from the Depositor Protection Fund on the progress of work to ensure the protection of the interests of Crimeans in 2022 became a key issue at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on budgetary, financial, investment and tax policy.

As of January 1, 2023, the Fund accepted 355.5 thousand applications from 223 thousand depositors. At the same time, 219.7 thousand people applied for compensation payments for the entire period, who received compensation payments for deposits in the amount of up to 700 thousand rubles. for a total amount of 27.2 billion rubles. At the same time, 1,600 Crimeans have not yet applied to the Fund for the restoration of the deadlines for filing applications.the Foundation said.

Additional compensation payments for citizens whose deposits exceeded 700 thousand rubles have been made since April 2014 at the expense of the property contribution of the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol. Since January 1, 2023, the Fund has received property contributions from the Republic of Crimea for a total of 3.604 billion rubles, of which in 2022 — 874.9 million rubles. Property contributions from the city of Sevastopol were not received.

As Olga Vinogradova, head of the profile committee of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea, noted, the Crimean budget finances the payments to depositors.

In 2022, the amount of additional compensation payments amounted to more than 800 million rubles, although it was planned to pay only about 220 million. These are the funds that were received through the sale of property of the Republic of Crimea— Olga Vinogradova emphasized.

The right to receive additional compensation payments are 9.4 thousand depositors for a total amount of 5.4 billion rubles, of which 6.6 thousand (70%) depositors are residents of the Republic of Crimea and 2.8 thousand people are residents of Sevastopol .
