What damage was caused by illegal sand mining in the Belogorsk region of Crimea

The Simferopol inter-district environmental prosecutor’s office conducted an audit of compliance with the requirements of the legislation on subsoil use in the Belogorsk region of Crimea.
The fact of illegal development of the Zuysky sand deposit, namely, the extraction of minerals outside the boundaries of the licensed area, was revealed. The mining enterprise illegally seized 3.5 thousand cubic meters of sand, which caused damage in the amount of 800 thousand rubles. Due to the lack of a license for the use of subsoil on the plot used, the environmental prosecutor filed a lawsuit with the Belogorsky District Court to impose obligations to suspend work on the specified land plot, carry out its reclamation, as well as compensate for damage caused to subsoil in the amount of more than 800 thousand rublesthe prosecutor’s office said.
The claims of the prosecutor are satisfied, the execution of the court decision is under control.
