We invite on February 20 at 15:00 to open the exhibition «Guide to the past»! Visitors will be told about the history of the museum and about the personality of its founder-Karl Kazimirovich Kostsyushko-Valyuzhinich, who laid the foundation for excursion activities in Chersonesos. The exhibition «conductor into the past» will also affect the development of a cultural institution in the Soviet years. The guests will learn that in 1936 the staff of the guide appeared in the museum for the first time, and in 1937 — the position of organizer of excursions. The exhibition “The conductor into the past” will also tell about the difficult fate of the employees of the institution during the Great Patriotic War, about the evacuation of the collection to the Urals, about the post -war restoration of Chersonesos and its heyday, associated with the name of the legendary Inna Antonova. She became the director of the museum at the age of 26, and it was with her that the “pre -revolutionary warehouse of local antiquities … became a major scientific center” and received the status of a reserve. During her leadership, restoration laboratories were created in Khersones, the exposition of ancient history was completely rebuilt, an updated medieval exposition was created, -They told the press service of the Museum-Reserve «Tauride Chersonesos».

The final section of the exhibition will talk about the life of the modern historical and archaeological museum-reserve, about the forms of his work with children and adults, with schoolchildren and students. The highlight of the exposition will be artifacts from the Tauride Chersonesos funds — archival photographs, genuine documents of the late 19th century, Soviet times and our days, archaeological finds.
