The Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol completed the investigation of the criminal case initiated against the former head of the production and technical department of the capital construction department of the Yalta administration. The official is accused of receiving a large bribe (clause “c” of Part 5 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

The Department for Investigation of Particularly Important Cases established that from August 2022 to March 2023, the then-current employee illegally received 400 thousand rubles from a representative of a construction company, which was a contractor in the implementation of municipal contracts for the reconstruction of kindergartens in Yalta. Funds were transferred to the head of the department on a bank card in small amounts for general patronage, adjusting certificates of work performed, influencing other administration officials and accelerating payment— the Investigative Committee reported details.

The illegal activities of an employee of the capital construction department of the Yalta administration were revealed during operational activities by employees of the Economic Security and Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Republic of Crimea.

The criminal investigation has now been completed. The accused admitted guilt in committing a corruption crime, giving detailed testimony about the circumstances of its commission as a suspect and accused, confirming them during verification of testimony on the spot and confrontations. She was given a preventive measure in the form of a ban on certain actions.,” the Sledkom clarified.

As part of the criminal investigation, the investigation also gave a procedural assessment of the actions of the briber. The case materials were sent to the prosecutor’s office for the purpose of studying, signing the indictment and sending the case to court.
