What you need to know to travel across the Crimean bridge

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Summer has come and there are a lot of questions in social networks: how long does it take to travel, or rather, waiting for the passage across the Crimean bridge. For now, it all depends on traffic. The wait can take several hours. And a lot depends on the drivers themselves. Knowledge is power. Further — about what you need to know about passing through the Crimean bridge, what to prepare for during the inspection.

All cars on the Crimean bridge undergo a mandatory check in accordance with order of the Ministry of Transport No. 227. They inspect, including bags and suitcases of bus passengers — there are no exceptions here.

So that the check did not take much time, by the beginning of the holiday season, special inspection points were opened and the staff was increased. Thanks to this, up to 15,000 cars in each direction will be able to pass over the bridge per day.

At the entrance to the bridge, cars go through one checkpoint. The checkpoints are located 200–300 meters before the entrance to the bridge on each side.

Depending on the amount of baggage, screening can be:

  • manual;
  • using the inspection complex.

During manual screening, the car is sent to special buildings — there the driver, passengers and luggage are checked like at the airport.

During inspection through the inspection and inspection complexes, personal belongings, luggage and cargo are scanned without unloading from the car.

How long does the check take?

About 10-20 minutes. The time depends on the traffic flow and the amount of luggage. Buses run on a priority basis.
