Where have Russians traveled the most since the beginning of the year? Simferopol — in the top destinations

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Moscow, St. Petersburg, Krasnodar and Sochi are the most popular destinations in Russia in the first quarter of 2024, according to travel service data Tutu. Russians traveled abroad to neighboring countries, as well as to Turkey and the UAE.

The top 5 most popular air destinations from the beginning of the year included Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi, Yekaterinburg and Mineralnye Vody. The share of passengers to the capital is 20.6%, to St. Petersburg – 8.5%, to Sochi – 5.2%, to Yekaterinburg – 2.8%, to Mineralnye Vody – 2.4%. Travelers also went to Kaliningrad, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Ufa and Tyumen. The largest number of flight bookings abroad were made in Uzbekistan (21.12%), Azerbaijan (12.24%), Tajikistan (11.57%), Armenia (10.61%) and Kyrgyzstan (9.94%). Türkiye and the UAE are popular among foreign countries,” noted the service’s press service.

Tutu analysts added that travelers have begun to use the booking service more often — it allows you to fix the price of an air ticket. They also buy tickets with the possibility of a 100% refund if the trip suddenly has to be rescheduled.

Russians traveled by train to two capitals, Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don and Adler. The share of passengers to Moscow is 22.9%, to the Northern capital – 8.2%, to Krasnodar – 3.9%, to Rostov-on-Don – 3.1%, to Adler – 2.1%. The top 10 popular destinations also included Yekaterinburg, Sochi, Simferopol, Tyumen and Voronezh.

According to Tutu analysts, since the beginning of the year, the number of train ticket buyers in the application has grown by 32%, and the share of purchased train tickets has increased by 27%. Travelers are also increasingly looking at train reviews and ratings before deciding to buy a ticket. The number of users who issue a train ticket in advance and pay for it later has also increased.
