CrimeaPRESS reports:

In Sevastopol, operatives detained a suspect in the intentional infliction of serious bodily harm to a local resident

Local residents who accidentally witnessed a street fight between two men contacted the Gagarinsky District Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. Patrol and post police officers immediately went to the address indicated in the message, found the 53-year-old man unconscious on a bench, and called an ambulance. The medics who arrived at the scene provided assistance to the victim and hospitalized him in a medical facility, where he was diagnosed with multiple injuries that were classified as causing serious harm to health.— reported the Sevastopol Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

As a result of a series of operational and investigative measures, the criminal investigation officers detained the suspect. He turned out to be a 40-year-old local resident.

The police found out that in the evening on the street a local resident, being intoxicated, met several passers-by and continued to drink alcoholic beverages with them. A verbal altercation arose between the drinking group, during which one of the men attacked the other and kicked and punched him in the head. Then, in order not to attract the attention of passers-by, he pulled the unconscious victim away, sat him down on a bench, and then disappeared.

A criminal case has been opened against the detainee under Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, “Intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm,” and he faces up to eight years in prison.
