On the last day of summer, Russians will travel around the country the most – domestic destinations account for 85% of purchased air tickets and 97.61% of purchased train tickets. Foreign destinations account for 15% and 2.39% of tickets, respectively. Travel service Tutu analyzed sales of plane and train tickets for August 31.
AIRLINES
The top 5 air destinations on the last day of summer included: Sochi, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad and Mineralnye Vody. The share of passengers in Sochi is 15.6%, in Moscow — 11.8%, in St. Petersburg — 7.1%, in Kaliningrad — 3.9%, in Mineralnye Vody — 3.1%. Russians also plan to go to Yekaterinburg, Makhachkala, Kazan, Vladivostok and Krasnoyarsk.
