White gowns of doctors consecrated in Simferopol
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Traditionally, in the days of memory of St. Luke in Simferopol, the ceremony of consecrating the white coats of medical workers took place.
On June 9, at the Holy Trinity Convent, at the relics of St. Luke, a moleben was held with an akathist “to the good and merciful doctor,” after which the senior priest of the Holy Trinity Monastery, Archpriest Pavel Morozenko, served with the cathedral clergy, performed the traditional rite of consecrating medical gowns.
Let your will coincide with the Will of God and let your hands, your hearts be strengthened by the Grace of God and achieve great and glorious results for science, for the health of our citizens, for the well-being of our Fatherland and for the Glory of God— the clergyman of the Crimean doctors admonished.
The ceremony of consecrating white coats in Crimea is called not only a good tradition, but also a significant event. St. Luke (Vladimir Feliksovich Voyno-Yasenetsky) in his life organically combined two ministries — God and people. One — on the hierarch’s pulpit, the other — at the operating table.
On June 11, the Orthodox Church honors and celebrates the day of memory of St. Luke. And it is on the eve of this bright day that here, on the territory of the Holy Trinity Convent, white robes are consecrated at the relics of Luke. The event is attended by active doctors, industry veterans and medical students— said the Minister of Health of the Republic of Crimea Konstantin Skorupsky.
