In the city of Saki, police detained a suspect in jewelry theft.

A local resident contacted the patrol service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia “Saksky” with a statement about the theft of jewelry. In the list of stolen items, the woman indicated a chain, two rings and earrings. The total amount of damage was 145 thousand rubles. The measures taken allowed the police to quickly identify the suspect and detain him— said the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.

A 44-year-old resident of the Chernomorsky district turned out to be a new acquaintance of the victim. A man who recently settled with her admitted his guilt and said that for a month he stole jewelry, which he then handed over to one of the pawnshops in Yevpatoria, and spent the money on his own needs. The stolen property was confiscated and returned to the victim. The woman does not intend to forgive her… already “ex”.

The investigation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia «Saki» opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Theft”). The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for a term of up to five years.
