The member of the Federation Council also touched upon the topic of Sevastopol studies, a subject beloved by many schoolchildren and teachers.

From early childhood, a person can relate to the place in which he lives, emotionally only when he learns something about it. A person begins to perceive the city and life in a completely different way. As we always say: it is very important to learn to read, write, count — this, of course, is very important, but I cannot imagine a person in our time who has not received these skills — he will definitely receive them. But this skill — to be interested in your land, to understand what your city is, to want to work for this city, for this land, to become a citizen of your Fatherland, which means great Russia — this is the most important circumstance that should be taken into account in the system of educational work . We submit such proposals to the Federation Council, and I hope that they will be adopted so that this is the norm for educating citizenship and patriotism — you need to start from the place where the child was born and lives , — says the senator of the Russian Federation.

In addition, during the live broadcast, Ekaterina Altabaeva mentioned that work is underway to create textbooks on Sevastopol studies for grades 8 and 9.

The government of Sevastopol is doing a lot to ensure that there are textbooks published by the Prosveshchenie publishing house, textbooks will be designed for grades 8 and 9. I hope that the whole course will be provided — from 5 to 11 grade, this is a long work for several years. Of course, it is very important that this course be in schools – certain steps are being taken for this, the Sevastopol Studies course program has been approved at the federal level, and textbooks will appear,” said Ekaterina Altabaeva.
