In the Sevastopol Center for Blood, an event was held in honor of World Donor Day. 71 people shared his blood to save life today. Experts emphasize: every year people who are ready to save someone’s life are becoming more. One donor is able to help several patients at once.
The number of honorary donors — people who donated blood for free more than forty times — is constantly increasing. In our city, the number of honorary donors is already approaching two thousand people. Today, two more people have received this status, -quotes the press service of the Government of Sevastopol I.O. chief physician of the blood center Vadim Antilogov.
The modern building of the blood center is equipped with special rooms where blood is collected and its components are carried out, numerous tests are carried out and reliable storage of the material is provided. The entire third floor of the building is reserved for the laboratory diagnostic department, where a set of studies is carried out that determine the safety of transfused blood.
Every year, the center replenishes reserves by almost 8 thousand liters of blood components.
