World Heart Day was celebrated on September 29: Chief Cardiologist of Crimea on risk factors for cardiovascular diseases
CrimeaPRESS reports:
As part of a press conference held at the site «RIA Novosti Crimea» On the eve of World Heart Day, the chief freelance cardiologist of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Crimea, Valery Sadovoy, recalled the risk factors that significantly increase the likelihood of developing cardiovascular diseases.
There are modifiable risk factors and non-modifiable ones, that is, those that cannot be influenced. Factors that certainly need to be influenced are the level of cholesterol, harmful lipoproteins, blood glucose, as well as excess body weight, arterial hypertension, and lack of physical activity. Non-modifiable factors are gender, age and hereditynotes the doctor.
Studies that allow us to identify risk factors, promptly identify deviations in health indicators and prescribe the necessary treatment are included in the program of medical examination and preventive examination. Therefore, it is important to regularly check your health for preventive purposes.
To prevent circulatory diseases, all citizens, regardless of age, are recommended to provide daily physical activity — this is ordinary walking at a moderate pace, at least 40-60 minutes a day. Nutrition is also important. A simple tip is to avoid red meat and yellow cheeses. It is better to eat meat from non-waterfowl — chicken or turkey. If possible, you need to replace animal fats with fats of vegetable origin, that is, sunflower and olive oil. Your diet should also include plenty of fruits and vegetables. Fruits are preferably not sweet. Potatoes, flour products — it is better to completely eliminate or reduce consumption, — says Valery Sadovoy.
The specialist also noted that cardiovascular diseases progress against the background of viral infections. Therefore, in anticipation of the seasonal increase in ARVI, it is necessary to undergo immunization against influenza and follow preventive measures.
