A complex with hotels and recreational facilities will be created on an area of 200 hectares in the area of the yacht marina in Balaklava, the Russian Ministry of Construction reported.
In 2016, Russian President Vladimir Putin gave instructions to develop proposals for the civic development of the Balaklava Bay area. The project to create a world center for yacht tourism in Balaklava has been identified as a priority for Sevastopol. In June 2024 in an interview TASS City Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev noted that the volume of private investment in the infrastructure of the yacht marina will be at least three times higher than state investment and will amount to approximately 50 billion rubles.
To attract investment, it is planned to create a recreational complex “Yacht Village” near the marina. On a total area of 200 hectares near the bay, 63 sites have been identified for the construction of hotels and recreational facilitiessays a message published on the ministry’s telegram channel.
The yacht marina is being created under the coordination of the Ministry of Construction of the Russian Federation under the state program “Socio-economic development of the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol”. The contract provides for the reconstruction and construction of berth infrastructure with a berth length of up to 1941 meters, modern infrastructure for servicing yachts in the coastal zone, and the creation of a landscaped embankment. Parking for 613 vessels will be equipped, and gas stations will appear on the water. The berth area will be enlarged and improved.
In total, 200 specialists and 36 pieces of equipment are involved at the site. The overall construction readiness is 25%, the Ministry of Construction reported.
