According to established tradition, on the morning of City Day, residents and guests were met and seen off at the bus station by the Yalta brass band, and employees of the Resource Center, subordinate to the Department of Culture, handed out thematic brochures to travelers.

Also traditionally on City Day, municipal museums opened their doors to all comers. The main exhibition in the building on Pushkinskaya Street, as well as «The Culture of Yalta in the 19th — First Quarter of the 20th Century» located on Yekaterininskaya Street 8A, were especially popular with history buffs. Museum employees were especially pleased that the younger generation is actively interested in the history of Yalta. In total, according to preliminary estimates, over five hundred people visited Yalta’s municipal museums on this day.

A bright and colorful holiday for children with the support of the Resource Center’s Culture Department was also organized in the Polyana Skazok Museum. The mischievous clowns gave out not only «Bad Advice» to the little guests, but also sweets, and Baba Yaga tried to confuse everyone with her riddles. The program also included a soap bubble show, drawing master classes, and face painting.

Another bright event for children and adults took place on Vasilievsky Lake. The City Youth and Teenage Center, TOS Vasilyevka, the Yalta branch of DOSAAF and entrepreneurs held a «Family Picnic» there, which included a military-tactical team game «laser tag», concerts, a disco, master classes in clay modeling, making souvenirs, magnets and postcards, painting shoppers, a soap bubble show, a science show, a quest «7 wonders of Yalta», horse and jeep rides, as well as a colorful light show «Lights of Yalta» and much more.

In the evening, on the embankment, everyone could join the dance marathon — the traditional concert-ball of the brass band «Yalta» and the historical dance club «Feeria» quickly won the interest of Yalta residents and guests of the resort.

And in the area of ​​the «square fountain» residents and guests of the resort could meet and take pictures with the heroes of Anton Pavlovich Chekhov’s works and with beautiful girls on stilts, including the advisor to the director of the 12th school Valeria Grin performed various pieces on the violin. An unusual performance with the support of the Department of Culture of the Resource Center and the Student Government of the city of Yalta was shown by young actors from the theater studio of the MBOU «YASSh No. 12» «Be Your Own Director», under the guidance of the talented teacher Svetlana Vasiltsova. This spring, the guys successfully performed as part of the Yalta team at the stand of the Republic of Crimea at the International Exhibition and Forum «Russia» at VDNKh.
