Russian holiday rental booking service TVIL.RU conducted a survey on social networks: where would they like to go with their children for the New Year? The Russian capital, Moscow, was in first place, the northern capital, St. Petersburg, was in second, and Sochi was in third.
1. It is not surprising that Moscow was chosen by 32% of voters. On New Year’s Day there are always a lot of festive programs that children really like. There are performances, fairs, and in general there is something to see.
2. In second place is St. Petersburg, this is the choice of 22% of subscribers. New Year’s Petersburg is an amazing snow-covered city full of fairy tales and legends. Special excursion programs are being prepared here for schoolchildren — not only in the City itself, but also in Pavlovsk, Gatchina, Lomonosov.
3. In third place is Sochi, which was chosen by 17% of voting participants. Of course, you are unlikely to see snow here, but celebrating the New Year under palm trees is also a good experience.
4. Karelia collected 13% of the votes. Why shouldn’t parents and children see winter Karelia, go skiing, sledding or even dog sledding? Now this service is offered by many guest houses and travel agencies.
5. 9% of voting participants voted for Veliky Ustyug. According to legends, it is in this city that the house of Father Frost is located — you can stop by to visit him so as not to miss meeting him for the New Year.
5. Yalta was chosen by 7% of subscribers. Let’s wish them new happiness in New Year’s Yalta, where the Glade of Fairy Tales awaits the children, and of course — the bluest sea — albeit winter.
7. Nizhny Novgorod was mentioned by 5% of all voters. In this wonderful city, children can also expect performances, fairs, master classes and other exciting adventures.
8. Kazan received 4% of the votes. In this beautiful, colorful city there is always something to keep a child busy — an ice skating rink, a water park, walks and excursions. And then you can drink tea with delicious, fresh pastries. And take a photo near the statue of the Cat of Kazan.
9. Kostroma was chosen by 2% of voters. Legend has it that it was here that “Moroz’s Spawn,” the beautiful Snow Maiden, was born, who has been accompanying Father Frost at children’s parties for many decades. There is also the Snow Maiden’s Tower here — and there are excursions there!
10. Voronezh collected 1% of the votes. From the very beginning of the holidays, city guests and local residents can expect parks and theatrical performances in them, as well as in shopping and entertainment centers. And in City Park “Grad” there will be a residence of Father Frost — so that not a single child is left without meeting a miracle.
