Yalta resident possessed synthetic drug — detained

As a result of operational-search activities, employees of the drug trafficking control department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Yalta established the involvement of a 35-year-old resident of Sevastopol in activities related to drug trafficking.
Law enforcement officers stopped the suspect in a forested area on the outskirts of Yalta. The woman was noticeably nervous and behaved suspiciously. During the search, a polymer bag containing a white powdery substance was found and confiscated from the suspect. When communicating with the police, the attacker explained that the seized package contained the drug methadone, which she purchased via the Internet and took from a stash for personal use. The examination confirmed that the substance weighing 1.02 g submitted for research contains the narcotic drug methadone (phenadone, dolophine)— the details of the case were announced in the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea.
An investigator from police department No. 3 “Massandra” of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Yalta opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Illegal acquisition, storage, transportation, production, processing without the purpose of selling narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues on a large scale.” The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for a term of 3 to 10 years.
The attacker was given a preventive measure in the form of a recognizance not to leave the place.
