Yalta will celebrate the 184th anniversary of the status of the city

On the 184th anniversary of Yalta’s status as a city, the Historical and Literary Museum has prepared a large-scale photo exhibition «Yalta … Through the centuries!». It will open on April 4, at 14.00 on the embankment near the monument to V.I. Lenin.

The purpose of the exhibition is to acquaint the guests of Yalta and remind the people of Yalta about the history of the city. The exposition is a story about how the resort developed, from the construction of palaces for the imperial family to the creation of fashionable sanatoriums and hotels in our time. The photographs are reminiscent of numerous talented artists who lived in the city and glorified it with their work — from Anton Pavlovich Chekhov and Alexander Alekseevich Khanzhonkov to Stanislav Kononovich Slavich and Yakov Aleksandrovich Basov. About the years of trials that fell to the lot of Yalta residents during the civil and Great Patriotic Wars, and about our compatriots, whose courage and heroism saved our Motherland and the whole world , — told the city administration.

Particular attention is paid to the most significant event of our time — the Crimean spring, the reunification of Crimea with Russia, the celebration of the first Day of Russia in Yalta.

The exhibition presents unique photographs from the funds of the Yalta Historical and Literary Museum, which depict people and events that were of historical importance for the formation and development of the city, architectural masterpieces and memorable places of Yalta.

On the same day in 00: 00 in the theater. A.P. Chekhov, a solemn meeting will be held, during which the merits of Yalta residents in various fields will be noted. After the audience, the creative team «Podvorie» will delight the audience with a performance.
