Year of the teacher and mentor: a forum of specialists of the psychological service was held in Sevastopol

An interregional forum «Psychological service of educational institutions: scientific approaches, effective practices, new ideas» was held in Sevastopol. The event was held as part of the Year of the Teacher and Mentor. Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Science Stanislav Feoktistov noted that it is important for specialists in the psychological service of educational institutions to combine different methodological programs in order to create a single educational space.

It is important for us not only to educate children with disabilities, but also to organize their constant psychological support. To achieve results, we need a psychological service, groups of teachers, councils, such forums as the one at which we have gathered are important. Irina Selivanova, Head of the Department of Special Education, thanked her colleagues for the fruitful cooperation, thanks to which the most difficult situations are resolved.

Teachers, parents and children are waiting for your help. There are more and more children with disabilities, and the success of these children in education will depend on how much we can unite the forces of teaching staff. I want to emphasize the importance of working with parents. They do not always understand how it is necessary to interact with special children: perhaps due to lack of information, perhaps due to unwillingness to advertise— Irina Selivanova notes.

Four thematic platforms worked during the forum. At the cross-conference “New Meanings of Psychological and Pedagogical Traditions and Practices in Education”, the participants discussed the issues of support and personal development of students of educational institutions in which psychological and pedagogical classes function. Master classes for mentors were presented at the second site. The third platform was the cases “Effective interaction of psychological service specialists, accompanied by students with disabilities and special educational needs”. A round table was also held on the topic: «Prevention of cruel treatment of students and manifestations of violence in the family: results and prospects of interdepartmental and intradepartmental interaction.»
