“Yenisei”: “I serve to save lives”

Contract service for many military personnel today is a conscious and voluntary choice. One of them is paramedic Vladimir with the call sign “Yenisei”, who saves the lives of his comrades on the contact line. His life now is before and after Donbass.

I volunteered to protect civilians in Donbass back in 2014. The fact is that I was born and raised in Siberia. A friend of mine lived near the town of Yasinovataya, and as soon as the shelling began, my friends and I got together and went; we couldn’t stay away. Many of the guys had no combat experience at all. I stayed there until 2019 as a paramedic, then I quit and came to Sevastopol. From the first days of the start of the special military operation, I realized that I had to join my own people. And so I came to the selection point to sign a contract with the Ministry of Defense. Very soon I will again go to the special military operation zone— the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the serviceman.

The man’s decision was supported by his family.

On the first trip, my wife actually went with me. We are raising five children together: two boys are 14 and 15 years old, they study at the Sevastopol Presidential Cadet School, a daughter and two kids – one and three years old,” Yenisei shared.

Let us remind you that military personnel are provided with about 15 federal and regional benefits and guarantees, including those received by participants in the special operation: official housing or compensation for rental housing, life and health insurance, credit and tax holidays, additional benefits and guarantees of constituent entities of the Russian Federation and others.

To enroll in military service under a contract, you need to prepare the following documents: an autobiography and a questionnaire (the form is posted on website), passport, military ID, education document, marriage and birth certificates.
