Yevpatoria Emergency Medical Service Station celebrates its centenary
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The Evpatoria emergency medical care station of the State Budgetary Healthcare Institution of the Republic of Crimea “Crimean Republican Center for Disaster Medicine and Emergency Medical Care” celebrates 100 years since its foundation.
The first mention of the presence of such an important and necessary service is found in the autobiography of the Honorary Citizen of Evpatoria Ivan Vasilyevich Buslaev, who, having graduated from the Odessa Faculty of Medicine, worked at the emergency room of the Zemskaya Hospital in 1924.
The development of the ambulance service is continuously connected with the Zemstvo Hospital (since 1926 — the Soviet Hospital, and now — the Evpatoria City Hospital). History has not preserved the names of the specialists who worked in the pre-war years. The service restored its activities in the post-war years, medical institutions and a sanatorium-resort complex were restored in the city. Evpatoria received the status of a children’s resort. As the population grew, the number of emergency medical services also increased. In the summer, during periods of peak load, 9-10 ambulance teams went out.
In the 50s of the last century, the ambulance service developed intensively, the first specialized teams were created, in particular cardiological and pediatric. Since 1974, the emergency medical service station has been located on the territory of the City Clinic. During this period, 6 emergency medical teams were deployed, and with the development of the villages of Mirny and Novoozernoye, the number of teams increased to 8. In the 90s, the number of teams decreased to 6 round-the-clock, but the main team of doctors and paramedics was preserved.
By 2000, the number of ambulance teams had increased to 9, the vehicles were equipped with radios, defibrillators, paramedics and doctors, but the condition of the vehicle fleet remained deplorable. In 2013, the Emergency Medical Service Station was removed from the subordination of the city health department and became part of the structure of the newly formed Center for Disaster Medicine and Emergency Medical Care. The Evpatoriya station includes emergency medical aid substations in the city of Saki and the town of Chernomorskoye.
In 2014, with the admission of the Republic of Crimea to the Russian Federation, the emergency medical service in general and, in particular, the Evpatoria emergency medical care station, received the opportunity for intensive development. Over the course of a decade, the vehicle fleet was completely renewed, and new permanent bases for emergency medical teams were opened in the populated areas of the Saki and Black Sea regions.
In 2024, the team celebrated a housewarming: a new building of the Evpatoria emergency medical care station was put into operation. The new two-story building has created modern working conditions for emergency medical personnel.
Since 2005, the Evpatoria emergency medical care station has been headed by Vitaly Mazin. A strong and well-coordinated staff of the station provides qualified medical care to the population.
The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Crimea congratulates the employees of the Evpatoria Emergency Medical Care Station on the anniversary of the creation of the service! We thank you for your daily work and wish you further success in your noble work, good health, self-confidence, victories and joy in life!
