You are my joy… Zoomers spend more on pet care than other Russians
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Every third Russian is looking for pet care specialists on online platforms
Russian zoomers spend more on caring for their pets than other Russians. According to a survey (sample of 10 thousand respondents throughout Russia), every fifth pet owner aged 18 to 24 years spends at least 5 thousand rubles a month on pet care services. Moreover, 30% of zoomers also plan to increase their pet care budget. In general, Russians have begun to take more care of their pets—over the past year, demand for animal care services has increased by a quarter. Compared to February last year, the most noticeable increase in demand was for pet taxi and transportation services (+275%), zoo psychologists (specialists in the correction of animal behavior, establishing contacts between pets and their owners) (+134%), and the increase in interest in veterinarian services was 39%.
Alexander Semochkin, head of development of the “Business and Economic Services” category at Avito Services:
Online platforms make searching for veterinarians, animal psychologists, and groomers more convenient. Therefore, the demand for pet care services is growing, including among young audiences. Today, 37% of Russians are looking for such specialists mainly on online platforms. Comparing prices for services or finding a groomer, for example, on Avito Services is easier than visiting veterinary clinics in search of the right provider, and the ability to communicate with a specialist online and reviews from previous clients makes the choice easier. When looking for animal care specialists, you should carefully study advertisements and look at reviews from previous clients — it is better to contact specialists who receive regular positive feedback.
Who are more in Russia — dog lovers or cat lovers?
According to the results of a survey by Avito Services, four out of five Russians (80%) have pets. 64% of respondents keep cats as pets, 35% keep dogs. Almost every tenth Russian (8%) has aquarium fish at home, and 2% have exotic pets.
How much do Russians spend on pet care?
The majority of Russians — almost a quarter (24%) of surveyed pet owners — spend from 3 to 5 thousand rubles per month on pet care services. 15% of Russians spend more than 5 thousand on their fish, cats, dogs, iguanas and other animals (11% — from 5 to 10 thousand rubles, 4% — more than 10 thousand rubles).
Moreover, almost every fifth Russian (18%) is ready not only to maintain the level of spending on their pets, but also to increase the budget for them, and 8% of Russians announced their plans to reduce such expenses.
What are the most popular pet care services among Russians?
According to a survey by Avito Services, 73% of pet owners use the services of veterinarians, 18% of respondents take their pets to groomers, 18% use pet walking services, 13% of respondents turn to obedience training specialists and basic commands.
Russians most often come to the Avito Services platform for regular grooming services (36% of total demand), including pet grooming, express shedding, bathing, nail trimming, ear cleaning and other procedures. 26% of demand is for veterinarian services, 11% for training specialists.
