You can save money: who is entitled to a privilege when paying land tax?
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Reduce the amount of land tax on your summer cottage or garden plot, note Arguments and Facts, many citizens of Russia can. There are completely legal grounds for this, said State Duma deputy, chairman of the Union of Summer Residents of the Moscow Region Nikita Chaplin:
The tax base is reduced by the amount of the cadastral value of 600 square meters (six acres) of the land area owned, permanent (unlimited) use or inherited for life by the Heroes of the Soviet Union or Russia, full holders of the Order of Glory, disabled people of groups I and II, disabled people with childhood, disabled children, veterans and disabled combatants. The same rule applies to citizens affected by radiation and participating in the testing of nuclear and thermonuclear weapons, pensioners and children with many children. In addition, federal legislation establishes the powers of representative bodies of local self-government by its regulatory legal acts to establish additional categories of citizens who may be entitled to such a benefit.
What is important is that this benefit cannot be “inherited” along with the land plot, and the heirs will be required to pay the full amount of the tax. Unless, of course, they themselves turn out to be pensioners, disabled people or awarded the highest orders.
