Young blockheads from Yalta decided to “make easy money” — they began to steal license plates

10 citizens applied to the police of Simferopol with similar statements about the theft of state registration plates from cars. They reported that they found the absence of license plates on their personal cars. As a result of operational-search activities, the criminal investigation officers identified the suspects. They were 16 and 22-year-old residents of Yalta. They were detained by police at their place of residence and taken to the police department for investigation.
During interrogation, the 22-year-old attacker admitted that, while watching an entertainment program on the Internet, he saw an advertisement that talked about «quick money» by selling state registration plates of cars. It was then that he had the intent to steal signs from cars and sell them in the future. He offered to participate in this scam to his new acquaintance, who agreed after the offered monetary reward. They decided to implement the plan in Simferopol, having noticed several cars there. While one was tearing off the registration plates, the second was watching the surroundings. In total, they managed to steal signs from 13 cars.— said the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea.
It was established that for a couple of state registration plates, young people wanted to make a profit in the amount of 10 thousand rubles, but they did not have time, as they were detained by police officers.
The investigator of the police department No. 1 «Zheleznodorozhny» of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Simferopol initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 325.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal possession of the state registration plate of a vehicle, out of selfish interest, committed by a group of persons by prior agreement). The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for up to four years.
For the involvement of a minor in criminal activity against a 22-year-old attacker, the investigator of the police department No. 1 «Railway» initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Art. 150 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
As specified in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea, a preventive measure in the form of a written undertaking not to leave has been chosen for the attackers.
