Yuri Avetyan from Simferopol became the bronze medalist of the Russian championship in boxing among young men 15- for the prizes of Alexander Povetkin. The competition ended in Chekhov near Moscow.
Yuri Avetyan excelled in the weight category up to 46 kg. In the semi-finals, our fellow countryman, by a very strange decision of the judges, who outplayed his original verdict, lost to Arseniy Zhiltsov, representing Chekhov, who eventually became the winner of the championship , reports Crimean Sport.
In total, 290 athletes took part in the competition. Crimea was represented by four boxers, but only Avetyan got on the podium.
