Yuriy Nimchenko and Sergey Karyakin have been proposed for the post of senators from the Republic of Crimea

Hero of Russia Yuri Petrovich Nimchenko will represent the executive body of state power of the Republic of Crimea in the Federation Council of the Russian Federation. The senator from the legislative body of state power of our republic will be Sergey Aleksandrovich Karyakin, a world-famous grandmaster.
According to the head of the republic, Nimchenko is a serviceman of the 126th separate guards coastal defense brigade of the 22nd army corps of the Black Sea Fleet coastal troops. Aksyonov described him as a person «with the right life position and the necessary character traits.»
The head of the region described Karyakin as a «true patriot who has proven his firm position in practice.» Aksenov noted that the grandmaster pays great attention to the education of the younger generation.
The Head of the Republic of Crimea thanked the current senators from the region, Olga Kovitidi and Sergei Tsekov, for their many years of fruitful work in the upper house of the Russian parliament and for their great contribution to the development of Russia and Crimea.
They have done a lot for the republic and all Crimeans, helped solve large-scale problems and support people, including in the most difficult moments for our region.— said Aksenov.
About the current senators from the Republic of Crimea
Since September 24, 2014, Tsekov has been a member of the Federation Council from the legislative branch of the republic. In 1994-1995, he was the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Crimea. Kovitidi has been a member of the Federation Council from the executive branch of the Republic of Crimea since April 15, 2014. In 2006-2014, he was a deputy of the Crimean parliament, and from February 28 to March 26, 2014, he was deputy chairman of the Council of Ministers of Crimea.
