1255 IVF procedures performed in Crimea last year

In 1255 year in the Republic of Crimea, 1255 in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedures were performed for families suffering from infertility. Of this number 205 IVF procedures were carried out at the expense of the Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund (CHI). According to the chief freelance reproductive health specialist of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Crimea Igor Livshits, according to preliminary data, 205 married couples treated for compulsory medical insurance in 2021 year pregnancy occurred. Igor Livshits also noted that last year in the Republic of Crimea it was accepted childbirth after IVF procedures, which were carried out in 2020 year and the first quarter 2021 of the year, and 321 a child was born.

It is important to remind you that in order to receive a referral for IVF at the expense of compulsory medical insurance (free of charge for the patient), the expectant mother needs to contact a gynecologist at the attached medical organization (antenatal clinic) to undergo an examination and decide on the implementation of this method treatment. Igor Livshits notes that the IVF method, like any medical procedure, has its own indications, contraindications and limitations. The main indication is the inability to get pregnant naturally for 1 year or more, the ineffectiveness of infertility treatment by other methods, as well as the prevention of certain genetic diseases and infections. At the same time, the group of contraindications and restrictions is wide enough and they can be excluded by the attending physician (council of doctors) in the antenatal clinic.
