60% of Crimeans are in favor of limiting the speed of electric scooters to 15 km/h and not allowing people under 18 to drive
CrimeaPRESS reports:
60% of Crimeans are in favor of limiting the speed of electric scooters and bicycles to 15 km/h, prohibiting people under 18 from driving on pedestrian streets and using these modes of transport. More often than others, this idea is supported by women, as well as respondents with children. Representatives of the economically active population took part in the survey of the SuperJob search service for highly paid jobs.
The United Russia deputies proposed limiting the speed of electric scooters and electric bicycles to 15 km/h, banning pedestrian streets, and people under 18 years of age using these vehicles. The initiative has already been supported by the head of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin. The proposed measures were also supported by 60% of Crimeans, who are convinced that this will help reduce the number of traffic accidents involving electric scooters. 21% of citizens oppose such regulation, however, the respondents argue their position in different ways: according to 14%, the indicated measures are too harsh (“You can’t ban teenagers anyway — it would be reasonable to reduce the age limit to 14 years old”), while 7 % find them too soft (“15 km/h is high speed!”)— noted in the press service of the service.
Proposed restrictions are more often supported by women (66% versus 54% among men). There are more supporters of the indicated regulatory measures among parents than among the childless (62% versus 57%).
Respondents under 34 share the opinion that prohibitions are excessive more often than the older generation (25% versus 14%).
