A 17-year-old “messenger” of swindlers who took half a million rubles from pensioners was detained in Crimea
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In Crimea, an 82-year-old local resident contacted the duty station of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia “Saksky”, who became a victim of telephone scammers operating under the scheme “Your relative was in an accident.” A woman misled by swindlers gave 250 thousand rubles to a young girl who came to her home, allegedly to help a loved one.
During operational search activities, the police identified the scammers’ messenger and detained her at her place of residence. The attacker turned out to be a 17-year-old resident of Yevpatoria.
The detainee said that she found an advertisement for a job as a courier in one of the instant messengers. After which, on the instructions of an unidentified curator, she came to the city of Saki, where she took cash from the pensioner and transferred it to her accomplices, leaving herself 5 percent of the amount as a monetary reward.
During the investigation, it turned out that the attacker helped her accomplices steal savings from two more elderly citizens. Thus, a 94-year-old resident of the city of Saki lost 150 thousand rubles, and an 84-year-old resident of the city of Evpatoria lost 102 thousand rubles. The total amount of damage caused to the three victims exceeded 500 thousand rubles— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
The investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia «Saksky» and the Department of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Yevpatoria have opened criminal cases on all facts on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
