A base communication station was presented to students of the Physico-Technical Institute of KFU
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The National Association of Digital Economy handed over a 3G/4G communication base station to the Physical-Technical Institute of the Crimean Federal University. Students in the training areas “Infocommunication Technologies and Communication Systems” and “Radiophysics” will be able to work with the equipment.
Our goal is to give students the opportunity to get acquainted with such equipment, learn how it works, how it is designed. This is, first of all, useful because students often gain knowledge only from information in a textbook or the Internet, from the teacher’s explanations, as well as during internship. Now, as part of laboratory classes, students will be able to disassemble this station and see all the components, they will be able to connect it and, with additional equipment, deploy a full-fledged station to see how it works. Thus, our main task is to give students the opportunity to become familiar with this equipment, understand the principle of its operation and internal structure. This is a working tutorial– notes the President of the National Association of Digital Economy Andrey Neukryty.
As noted at the university, work with new equipment will be carried out in three directions: studying and developing our own operating systems for base stations, studying the process of operating the equipment, as well as developing similar equipment as part of import substitution.
The Institute of Physics and Technology is interested in the transition from fundamental research to applied engineering development, including the operation of existing telecommunication systems and their further development. This year we received a license for a new area of training “Infocommunication technologies and communication systems”, within which base stations are one of the main blocks for building networks. We are interested in cooperation with enterprises. For their part, enterprises are also interested, since students, having trained on real equipment, come to them as already trained specialists and can immediately start working, — emphasized the director of the Physico-Technical Institute of KFU. V. I. Vernadsky Alexander Nudga.
The National Association of Digital Economy has been operating since 2018 and includes 42 branches in different regions of Russia. The main task of the association is to assist legal entities and individuals in the implementation of digital solutions, as well as in the implementation of the national project “Digital Economy”.
