A boarding home for the elderly and disabled in Yevpatoria received charitable assistance

CrimeaPRESS reports:

On June 26, the Memory of Generations charity foundation, together with Mriya Resort & SPA, donated rehabilitation equipment to the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Crimea Evpatoria Nursing Home for the Elderly and Disabled — 80 medical beds with mattresses, bed linen, bedside tables and other necessary equipment for a total of 2.9 million rubles. The new equipment will help the institution improve the living conditions and treatment of its wards.

The ceremony of presenting the rehabilitation equipment took place on the territory of the boarding house, and was attended by: Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Crimea Maxim Teryaev, Chairman of the All-Russian Society of Disabled People Sergei Poddubny, Deputy Director for Social Work of the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Crimea «Yevpatoria Boarding House for the Elderly and Disabled» Emine Ablaeva, Director of HR at Mriya Resort & SPA Ekaterina Chalaya and Head of the Department for the Implementation of Targeted Programs of the «Memory of Generations» Charitable Foundation Elnora Lysova.

Currently, 151 residents live in the boarding home. We want to create the most comfortable living conditions for them and, of course, updating the material and technical base will greatly help in this! New equipment is especially important for disabled residents of a boarding home — they will be able to be more independent, while their safety will increase!, – notes the Deputy Director for Social Work of the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Crimea “Yevpatoriya Boarding Home for the Elderly and Disabled”.

Mriya Resort has been supporting the elderly and veterans of the Great Patriotic War for several years now.

We have been carrying out social activities in Crimea since 2019: We provide medical services annually at the medical center Mriya Life, We deliver humanitarian aid monthly with the help of corporate volunteers, monthly we carry out promotions of continuity of experience between generations and respectful attitude of children towards older people with 3 schools. The Corporate Volunteer Center has already implemented more than 120 charity events for veterans of the Great Patriotic War and the elderly. With our help, we have long gone beyond Yalta, where our resort is located, to the republican level. In order for the assistance to be as effective as possible, we needed a strong partner with good expertise in helping the elderly, and we found one: we know what problems there are in our region, and the experts of the Memory of Generations Foundation how to solve them said Ekaterina Chalaya, Director of Human Resources at Mriya Resort & SPA.

State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Crimea “Evpatoria Boarding Home for the Elderly and Disabled” is not the first institution in Crimea to receive assistance from this charitable tandem. Last year, the nursing home in Levadia received medical equipment and furniture for a new department worth more than 3 million rubles. Both institutions were not chosen by chance: the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Crimea gives recommendations on which boarding homes and nursing homes in the region need help first. This approach makes it possible not only to “relieve the pain” of one particular boarding home, but to systematically solve the social problems of the region.

Maxim Teryaev, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Crimea:

There are three boarding houses in the region, so supporting each one, updating equipment and other assistance is strategically important for the Republic of Crimea. We are glad that we now have federal-level partners who help us solve problems efficiently and quickly.

Elnora Lysova, Head of the Department for the Implementation of Targeted Programs of the Memory of Generations Charitable Foundation:

Since 2015, our foundation has been providing targeted medical assistance to veterans of the Great Patriotic War and other actions, and also helps hospitals for war veterans and social institutions. In Crimea, during the foundation’s operation, we have helped 152 veterans for more than 20 million rubles. In 2016, we donated multifunctional beds to the Pirogov Saki Military Clinical Sanatorium, and in 2019 for the Crimean Republican Clinical Hospital for War Veterans, we supplied rehabilitation and diagnostic equipment. Last year, we helped for the first time together with our partners Mriya Resort & SPA, and this year we are happy to continue our joint assistance!

About the charitable foundation «Memory of Generations»

Since 2015, the Memory of Generations Foundation has been providing medical assistance to veterans of the Great Patriotic War and other military operations. Over the eight years of the foundation’s activity, more than 18.5 thousand veterans across the country have received the necessary assistance: hearing aids, wheelchairs, sets of medicines, as well as the opportunity to undergo treatment and rehabilitation in specialized medical institutions.

Every year, the foundation holds one of the largest charity events in the country — “Red Carnation.” From April to June, volunteers all over Russia take to the streets of their cities and distribute carnation badges for donations. All funds raised go to medical care for veterans.
