A Crimean citizen collected a “record harvest”, but… hemp opened up a shortcut for him to the colony
CrimeaPRESS reports:
For many years…
In the Bakhchisarai region, a local resident will be sent to a colony for twelve and a half years for cultivating and attempting to sell hemp. As they told the court, the Crimean resident planted and grew 21 hemp bushes at his place of residence.
Having cut off the mature plants, the man purchased about 20 kg of parts of hemp plants, which he later intended to sell to drug-addicted citizens. He was unable to complete his criminal intent, as he was detained by officers of the Russian FSB Directorate for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol— said the prosecutor’s office of the Republic of Crimea.
The result of the story: the “record-breaking agrarian” was found guilty under Part 1 of Art. 231 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal cultivation of plants containing narcotic drugs), Part 3 of Art. 30, paragraph “g”, part 4, art. 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted illegal sale of plant parts containing large amounts of narcotic drugs).
The court, taking into account the opinion of the state prosecutor, sentenced the man to 12 years and 6 months of imprisonment to be served in a high-security correctional colony. The verdict did not enter into legal force.
