A criminal case has been opened in Sevastopol regarding the injury of a child on a playground

The Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol has opened a criminal case on the fact of improper performance by officials of the GUPS “Criminal Code “Gagarinsky District-2” in Sevastopol of their duties, which resulted through negligence in causing grievous harm to the health of a minor (Part 2 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code RF).

The investigative department for the Gagarinsky district established that in June 2023 the management company received a technical examination report on the presence of critical defects in the carousel installed at the playground on the street. Alexandra Kosareva, who was in their custody, with recommendations to dismantle it. At the same time, the authorized persons did not take the necessary measures and did not provide security measures. As a result, in September, while riding on a carousel, a second-grader suffered a displaced leg fracture, which caused serious harm to his health. Violations were discovered during a prosecutor’s inspection— reported the Investigative Committee.

Investigators carry out the necessary forensic examinations, and investigative actions are also carried out to establish the circumstances of the crime committed against the safety of minors. The criminal investigation continues.
