A fraud suspect was detained in the Saki region. “Helped” to register land plots

The Saki city police received a statement from a local resident. The man reported that two years ago he transferred 174 thousand rubles to his friend without an agreement for the purchase and registration of ownership of land plots in the Saki region.
Operatives detained a 32-year-old resident of the Saki district suspected of committing fraud. During the investigation, criminal investigation officers identified another victim of the suspect’s fraudulent actions. A resident of the Belgorod region similarly lost 700 thousand rubles, transferred without an agreement for the purchase of a land plot in the Saki district— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
It is clarified that the previously unconvicted suspect admitted his guilt. Criminal cases have been initiated under Parts 2 and 3 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Fraud”). The man faces punishment: from a large fine to six years in prison.
