In honor of Volunteer Day, on December 5, a meeting was held in the Simferopol city administration with the deputy head of the Simferopol city administration. The meeting was held with youth organizations that have actively shown themselves in volunteer activities throughout the year.
It was noted about the positive dynamics of the development of the volunteer movement in the city. Thus, using the example of the republican patriotic action “Snow Landing of the Republic of North Ossetia”, student teams as volunteers every year take an active part in the improvement of the urban environment. Since 2019, the number of people has grown from 50 to 300 people in 2023, who simultaneously take part in volunteer activities. Most volunteer work is carried out during the holiday period between academic semesters. The guys do not choose to relax at home, but rather the opportunity to contribute to the development and improvement of the city.
Student teams have been working in the city of Simferopol for several years now and are engaged in the restoration of monuments to the Great Patriotic War and mass graves of the Great Patriotic War and conduct lessons in courage. 2024 is an important date in the history of Crimea — 80 years of the liberation of Crimea from the Nazi invaders. And within the framework of the All-Russian patriotic action “Snow Landing of the Russian North Ossetia” and “Let us bow to those great years”, we are planning an even larger scale participation of students in the improvement of WWII monuments— the press service of the head of volunteer actions of the Crimean regional branch of RSO quotes Ekaterina Denesyuk.
As part of the event, letters of gratitude were presented from the head of the administration of the city of Simferopol, Republic of Crimea, and activists of volunteer movements were awarded for their active civic position.
It is important to support the volunteer movement in our country, especially in the context of current events. After the recent hurricane, student teams of the Republic of Crimea took the initiative, helping to improve the park area and completing an incredible amount of work.
Gagarinsky Park, a popular attraction for residents and guests of the city, required urgent intervention. It is almost impossible to remove small branches and debris in the park using only full-time employees. Without the participation of student groups, the solution to this problem would have been delayed. It is important to understand that volunteers play a key role in overcoming such challenges that require public attention and involvement.
Voluntary organizations do significant work and we are committed to growing this movement. Work in this direction is just beginning to gain momentum, and we invite more people to join the volunteer community,” notes Deputy Head of the Simferopol City Administration Danil Smolyarenko.
