A methadone dealer who arrived in the hero city from the Moscow region was detained in Sevastopol

CrimeaPRESS reports:

As a result of operational search activities, employees of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Sevastopol got on the trail and, with the force support of the Sokol SOBR of the Russian Guard, detained a 48-year-old visiting man suspected of a drug crime.

As the police established, a resident of the Moscow region, having arrived in the territory of the hero city, rented an apartment and began purchasing large quantities of methadone in the shadow segment of the Internet for subsequent sale. An anonymous drug dealer sent criminal goods to an attacker from another region through transport companies. At the same time, the “synthetics” were hidden in sneakers and pillows, and they were delivered directly to the customer’s place of residence. After receiving the parcels, the suspect packaged the drug into single doses and then placed it in hiding places in Sevastopol. The man left the packages where they were easier for consumers to find — near monuments, entrances to private houses, buildings and garages— reported the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol.

During a search of an apartment rented by a drug dealer, as well as an inspection of his car and the caches he equipped, police officers seized more than 130 packages of methadone. In addition, packaging materials, high-precision electronic scales, mobile phones and bank cards were discovered and seized from the rented accommodation.

Investigators of the Department of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Leninsky district of Sevastopol have opened criminal cases under Part 3 of Art. 30, part 4 art. 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The defendant was chosen as a preventive measure in the form of detention. The investigation is ongoing.
