A new literary and artistic project presented in Alushta within the framework of inter-museum cooperation

Exhibition “Shmelev and Bunin. Crossroads of Fates” introduces exhibits from the funds of the Voronezh Literary Museum named after I.S. Nikitin

With the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Crimea in the Museum of the writer I.S. Shmelev, the presentation of the inter-museum literary and art exhibition “Shmelev and Bunin. Crossroads of Fates” from the funds of the Voronezh Regional Literary Museum named after I.S. Nikitin.

The fates of Ivan Shmelev and Ivan Bunin are linked by similar biographical facts, spiritual overcomings, and thematic similarity of the works.

The exhibition was opened by the head of the department of exhibition and exposition work of the Voronezh Regional Literary Museum named after I.S. Nikitina Olga Urazova. The curator of the exhibition, senior scientific museum, candidate of philological sciences Oleg Fenchuk read the poems of Ivan Bunin, analyzed them, revealed the facets of the talent of Bunin and Shmelev, the crossroads of the destinies of two great people and gave a tour of the exhibition.

Paintings, graphic copies, photographs, postcards, as well as items of church life tell about the inner closeness of Bunin and Shmelev. The exposition is complemented by informative banners with information about the work and life of writers.

The exhibition will be on display until October 23, 2023.
