CrimeaPRESS reports:
A cautionary tale about the «power of persuasion». A resident of Sevastopol was a witness in a criminal case on the beating of her roommate. During the confrontation, she testified against the suspect. Subsequently, he forced her to give false testimony.
K., threatening the witness with an awl, demanded to change her earlier testimony in the criminal case, giving false testimony about his non-involvement in causing harm to health. Then, forcing A. to comply with his demands, he hit her in the leg with an awl, giving A. a warning and a threat to kill her and her son, if the testimony is not changed , — the press service of the Leninsky District Court of Sevastopol reports.
The court found the man guilty of committing a crime under Part 3 of Art. 309 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (compulsion to testify). He was sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 1 year and 8 months, to be served in a strict regime correctional colony.
