A message about a fire in a truck in the coastal zone of the city of Saki was registered at the Saki Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. Police officers who arrived at the scene determined that a vehicle belonging to a private company had been set on fire.
During operational search activities, police identified and detained a suspect in the crime. He turned out to be a previously convicted 39-year-old resident of the Saki district. The man confessed and said that he worked as a driver in this private enterprise and was fired after he committed an accident in a company truck as a result of violating the Traffic Rules. The court ordered the citizen to pay monetary compensation to repair the truck. The suspect harbored a grudge against the management of the enterprise and set the vehicle on fire out of revenge.— reported the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Crimea.
The police established that the attacker arrived at night in his car at the parking lot of a private company, doused the interior of the truck with gasoline and set it on fire. At the same time, the suspect himself received burns to his face, which served as further evidence of the attacker’s involvement in the crime.
The investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia “Saksky” opened a criminal case on this fact on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 167 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Deliberate destruction or damage to property.” The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of up to 5 years in prison. A preventive measure was chosen against the man — a written undertaking not to leave the place.
