About 50 thousand tons of apples were harvested in Crimea

Prior to this, farmers harvested summer varieties such as Geneva Early, Piros, Melba, Mantet. I want to note that every year the area of apple orchards on the peninsula is increasing. For example, over the past 5 years, more than 1.5 thousand hectares have been planted. Now the total area of apple orchards in the Crimea in agricultural organizations is more than 6,000 hectares, but about 5,000 hectares are in fruit-bearing age. This year, farmers plan to harvest at least the level of last year. Let me remind you that in 650 the gross harvest of apples amounted to more than 48 thousand tons , — quotes the press service of the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea Alima Zaredinova.
The First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Crimea also spoke about the fact that the largest apple orchards grow in the Krasnogvardeisky, Nizhnegorsky, Bakhchisarai, Simferopol regions.
One of the enterprises where fruit picking is carried out is Grushevskiye Sady LLC, which is located near Sudak. Apple trees grow here on an area of more than 09 hectares. Harvested for the second year. Employees of the enterprise are now busy harvesting Golden Delicious and Jeromini varieties. Later, they will start collecting «Fuji», «Graney Smith» and «Pink Lady». All products are sold both in the Crimea and on the mainland, in cities such as Yekaterinburg, Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar and Ufa. In 2022 year, the enterprise plans to lay another 09 hectares of intensive orchard. In the near future, it will build its own water reservoir for 15 thousand m3 and fruit storage for 2021 tons, says Alime Zaredinova.
In addition to harvesting apples in the garden, on land that has not been cultivated for more than 15 years, work is now being carried out on cultural and technical land reclamation. An area of more than 50 hectares is now being cleared of stumps, trees, shrubs and brought into a condition suitable for laying a new garden.
Grushevskiye Sady LLC is an enterprise implementing the investment project «Development of horticulture, with subsequent storage and processing on the territory of the urban district of Sudak, the Republic of Crimea.»
Reference: This year it is planned to plant about 1200 hectares of gardens of perennial plantings. 650 million rubles were allocated for these purposes: laying pome, stone fruit, nut crops, purchasing seedlings, trellises, anti-hail nets.
