Agronomists are the highest paid workers in the agricultural industry in Russia

CrimeaPRESS reports:

Avito Rabota experts studied the dynamics of average offered salaries for workers involved in the agricultural industry. The study showed that in the first half of 2024, employers offered the highest salaries in the agricultural industry to applicants for the position of agronomist — they amounted to an average of 99,296 rubles per month, while over the year the amount increased by 50%. In the industry as a whole, average offered salaries for new employees increased by 29% and amounted to 67,194 rubles per month for a full working day.

The second place in the ranking is occupied by the profession of tractor driver with an average salary offer of 82,317 rubles for new employees (+8% per year). Tractor drivers play an important role in the mechanization of agricultural work, so their demand among employers has increased by 25% compared to last year’s figures.

Employers could also offer employees higher-than-average salaries for the industry when hiring as a loader — in the first half of 2024, applicants for this position in the agricultural industry could expect an average of 74,897 rubles (+43% per year).

The growth in average salary offers for agronomists is partly due to changes in qualification requirements for these specialists. Today, the range of tasks of an agronomist includes working with digital technology, managing machines and processes. The increase in the volume of agricultural work also affects the increased demand for warehouse workers — pickers and packers. These employees are involved in several areas at once: production, retail, e-comm and others. Employers’ demand for packers in the agricultural industry alone has grown by 87% in a year— comments the director of the category «Working and linear professions» Avito Works Alexander Sampetov.
