An avalanche in the Crimean mountains is not a fiction, but a real danger. Two victims on Chatyr-Dag
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Yesterday afternoon, the rescue service received a message that two skiers were injured as a result of snow melting in the Cold Couloir on Mount Chatyr-Dag.
At the signal, 10 employees from the Alushta and Simferopol emergency rescue squad «CRIMEA-SPAS» left. Arriving at the Angarsk Pass, they moved towards the victims. Having reached the skiers, rescuers found out that one of them had suffered a chest and arm injury. They gave him first aid. Then he was transported on a stretcher on foot to the Yew Gorge road, after which he was taken on an ATV to the Angarsk Pass and handed over to medical workers. The second victim with a hand injury was able to independently, accompanied by his comrades, get to the ambulance entrance.— reported the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea.
Let us note that avalanches in the Crimean mountains are not uncommon, especially during such “weather windows” when all conditions converge: thaw, wind, large masses of wet snow.
