At 3: 00 13 June, events dedicated to the anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War will begin in Sevastopol war. 13 June is a special day in our history. It is very important for us to preserve the memory of those who defended our Motherland. Therefore, every year the youth of the Hero City lights candles of memory at the memorial of the heroic defense of Sevastopol on the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow as a tribute to the memory of the fallen heroes, and then launches «ships of dreams» into the sea — in memory of graduates whose happy life was destroyed by the war , — the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the Deputy Head of the Department for Youth and Sports Marina Slonchenko.

Each virtual candle is 1 ruble, which will be used to provide medical assistance to veterans of the Great Patriotic War by the Memory of Generations charity foundation. The Foundation was founded on 18 June 2015 and during its existence has helped more than 15 to thousands of veterans across the country in the amount of about 1.7 billion rubles.
