A resident of the Nizhnegorsky district of Crimea is accused of killing his father by arson.

The Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol has opened a criminal case against a resident of the urban-type settlement of Nizhnegorsky, accused of murdering a 97-year-old father (Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The Belogorsk Interdistrict Investigation Department established that a 62-year-old man, while in his house on the street. Pervomaiskaya, together with her father, whom he was caring for, deliberately set fire to flammable household items in several rooms. Afterwards, the son left the burning house, leaving his sedentary elderly father in one of the rooms. The pensioner was unable to get out of the room on his own and died from his burns.— reported the Investigative Committee.

Investigators and forensic investigators conducted thorough examinations at the crime scene and seized samples for forensic examination.

In cooperation with police officers, the defendant was detained. He was charged with committing a particularly serious crime and a preventive measure was chosen in the form of detention.
