On Cosmonautics Day all over Russia, adults and children wrote the All-Russian Space Dictation. Artek workers of the 4th shift “First in space, best in the world” took part in the action, which is supported by the Ministry of Education of Russia. The event was organized by the Roscosmos State Corporation, the New Space Aerospace Corporation, the Cosmonautics and Aviation Center at VDNKh.
Cosmonautics Day is an important holiday for Artek. Outstanding cosmonauts and scientists became guests of the children’s center, including the first cosmonaut of the Earth Yuri Gagarin and designer Sergei Korolev. On their initiative, the Artek Museum «Cosmos» was founded, and the children’s camp «Crystal» bears the name of Gagarin— says the press service of the ICC «Artek».
Goals and objectives of the dictation: to expand the circle of students’ knowledge about the development of domestic astronautics; introduce key personalities — scientists, engineers, designers and cosmonauts; tell about the first manned flight into space, the life and work of the first cosmonaut of the planet Yuri Gagarin; to demonstrate the role of domestic cosmonautics in the world and the prospects for its development; — to instill feelings of patriotism, pride in our Motherland — a great space power.
The Cosmonautics and Aviation Center at VDNH in Moscow became the central platform for writing the dictation. Participants from Moscow, Rostov-on-Don, Lugansk, St. Petersburg, Baikonur and other cities got in touch with Artek workers. Anyone can take part in the event online.
Participants had to answer 30 questions. They dealt with the life and work of the founders of cosmonautics, great designers and cosmonauts, the history of space exploration, modern space activities, and much more.
Questions for the participants were read by invited guests, including the Russian test cosmonaut of the Yu. A. Gagarin Scientific Research Institute of TsPK, Hero of the Russian Federation Oleg Artemyev, General Director of the Russian Society «Knowledge» Maxim Dreval, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Vladimir Mashkov and others prominent figures. The leader was the author of the dictation, the president of the Center «Cosmonautics and Aviation», pilot-cosmonaut, Hero of Russia Fyodor Yurchikhin.
Artek residents admit that they managed not only to show their knowledge, but also to learn a lot about the space industry.
The topic of space is very exciting and extensive. I am sure that space research is a promising area, because there are still many objects for study.
