At Artek International Children's Center, Russia Day was celebrated with the presentation of passports, an art gallery, folk festivals and a festival

CrimeaPRESS reports:

On June 12, on the Day of Russia, Artek hosts a festive themed day — Motherland Day «Vivat, Russia!». The event helps children to feel the flavor of the traditions of the regions of Russia, the diversity of the historical and cultural heritage of our country. The holiday, aimed at civic and patriotic education of the younger generation, began with solemn rulers — the Russian tricolor soared up the masts in all nine camps of the International Children’s Center. On a significant day for our country, with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, Artek residents — young citizens who have proven themselves in studies, sports and socially significant activities — received their first passports.

For decades, Artek has hosted brave heroes, space pioneers, peace ambassadors. And today the main characters are children. Each Artek citizen made his own small feat in studies, sports, and creativity. More than three thousand talented children from different parts of our country lined up on festive lines to proudly say: «We are Russians, we are the future of Russia, we are a worthy generation.»

Artek people honored the great country, with its traditions, with its history, with its people, with its victories! Together, the children sang the National Anthem of the Russian Federation, took part in the ceremony of raising the State Flag of the Russian Federation. Talented Artek residents prepared creative performances dedicated to the Motherland and presented them to their peers. The children sang, danced and demonstrated their talents. Also, during the ceremony, everyone was able to learn more about the history of the holiday.

One of the important events of the day was the presentation of passports to 13 Artek residents, who turned 14 years old, within the framework of the Russian Movement of Children and Youth project “We are citizens of Russia!”. The main document was presented to young citizens of the country by representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea and the Movement of the First, the director of the Artek International Children’s Center.

Each of us has such a concept as the Motherland. And we are proud that our Motherland is a mighty, fair, great Russia. Today, the passports that you receive for the first time give you not only rights, but also obligations. From today you have become a little older, this is another step into adulthood. You will receive a document that will prove your identity. I congratulate you on the great day — the Day of Russia. Congratulations on the fact that you and your parents decided to get passports in this iconic place, in Artek, and on this iconic day. All the best and success to you— congratulated the Artek residents on an important event, the head of the migration department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Republic of Crimea, police colonel Nikolai Skob.

Addressing the participants of the solemn event, Director of the Artek International Children’s Center Konstantin Fedorenko noted:

Our country is the Russian Federation with a multi-million people who honor traditions. And we try to transfer them to you, including on the territory of Artek. Traditions are, of course, our family, our Motherland, attitude towards our country. It is also work, health, service to the Fatherland. I sincerely congratulate you all on Russia Day. I really hope that the presentation of passports at the International Children’s Center will become a tradition. This event is the beginning of conscious citizenship, conscious influence on the processes in the state, on elections, on its economic and social development. Today it is possible with your direct participation..

On the holiday of national unity and common responsibility for the present and future of the Russian state, Konstantin Fedorenko wished all children to sincerely love their Motherland, to cherish the opportunity to learn about it as much as possible.

Artek team members and creative teams congratulated the Artek team on the memorable event. The age of fourteen is rightly considered a transitional stage to adulthood, and the receipt of the main document remains in memory for life. The Artekites promised to be faithful to the Russian Federation, to be worthy citizens of Russia, to faithfully and devotedly serve the Fatherland, to protect its interests, security and independence, to do everything for the prosperity of Russia and its better future.

For me, this is a very solemn event. I am grateful for the opportunity to get a passport at Artek. This will be remembered for a lifetime. I am very glad that I am a citizen of Russia. Russia is my love— said Karina from the Donetsk People’s Republic.

These are unforgettable emotions and impressions. To be a citizen of Russia is to be a patriot of your country, to honor the memory of heroes, to love and defend your Motherland— Sofya Mizyakina from the Penza region shared.

I feel like I’ve grown up. Now I have more opportunities to express myself. Being a citizen of Russia is very honorable. Moreover, today is a holiday, it turned out solemnly and brightly, — said Yesenia Khabibova from the Republic of Bashkortostan.

The main leitmotif of the holiday is a demonstration of the achievements of the Russian people, the formation of pride in their small Motherland and the country as a whole. On Motherland Day, various activities take place throughout the day in several locations:

At the Russkaya Polyana and the Gorny children’s camp park, Artek residents will take part in an entertaining, educational, concert and game program — Veselukha folk festivals. Also in the park area, the Art Gallery «Pride of Russia — the pride of Artek» will unfold — an interactive exhibition prepared by Artek’s thematic partners and teachers of additional education, will present Russia’s achievements in several clusters: science, culture, sports, technical achievements, architectural and natural monuments. The celebration will continue with the plein air of young artists, the RDDM game “Be on the move”, as well as the work of the exhibition space “This is my Motherland!”, where posters made by children will be presented, telling about what every Russian region is proud of.

In all canteens of the children’s center, the Day of Russian Cuisine is held. Chefs prepare dishes in the national traditions of Russia — here you can find Moscow borscht, royal fish soup, and the traditional delicacy of the Russian people — pancakes. And everyone’s favorite animation.

For many Artek residents, the Motherland is Russia with its vast territory, multinational culture, and heroic past. On this special day, the participants of the 6th shift “Vivat, Russia! Vivat «Artek!» more than ever they feel their involvement in the great historical path of Russia, which has always relied on the strength of the spirit and the unity of the people. Each pupil of the children’s center speaks about his country with special trepidation.

Here you feel how everyone loves the Motherland and is ready to defend it. Russia is home, love, family, all life. In this beautiful place we feel a special unity— said Ekaterina from Donetsk, DPR.

For me, Russia means wide expanses, different peoples and nationalities, cultural exchange and many opportunities. Russia Day unites us— Egor Chernykh from St. Petersburg is sure.

Russia is my homeland, my family and the people who surround me. I am very proud of my country. It is important for me to be a patriot of my Fatherland— shared Polina Milonova from Veliky Novgorod.
