CrimeaPRESS reports:

In Alushta, the police received a report from a 41-year-old local resident engaged in construction work about the theft of power tools.

While fulfilling an order for a hotel on the coast of Alushta, the man agreed with the employees of this complex to store the construction equipment necessary for work in a room above the beach. When the working day was over, the victim locked the tool shed and left. Returning a day later, he discovered the property was missing. At the same time, the Alushta resident noted that the castle was not damaged. The amount of material damage caused to the victim amounted to more than 116,000 rubles— the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea gave details.

During operational search activities, criminal investigation officers identified a previously unconvicted 34-year-old resident of Cheboksary as a suspect in the theft. The suspect confessed and repented of his crime.

The police established that the attacker had been working at the victim’s premises for several days and therefore had access to the said premises. Having finished the work on processing metal structures later than his partner, the suspect called a taxi to go to his place of residence (Yalta). When the car arrived at the designated address, the attacker, taking advantage of the opportunity, decided to steal other people’s tools from the premises. Having loaded everything into the taxi and convinced the driver that the power tools belonged to him, the suspect headed to Yalta, where he sold all the stolen property to an unfamiliar person for 15,000 rubles. He used the proceeds at his own discretion.— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
