Chersonese Tauride develops cooperation with the Sevastopol Children's Art School

The list of reliable partners of the cultural institution has grown. Today, the Tauric Chersonese Museum-Reserve and the Sevastopol Children’s Art School signed a cooperation agreement. As part of it, it is planned to hold joint exhibitions, actions and festivals aimed at popularizing the historical and cultural heritage of the country and at the comprehensive development of the younger generation.

I want to congratulate all of us on the beginning of cooperation! The school of arts was opened on the territory of the southern suburb of Chersonesos, with the direct participation of the museum-reserve and its scientists. Through their efforts, archaeological research was carried out, bringing today’s event closer. I am very happy that the school of arts is opening with an exhibition dedicated to Tauric Chersonesus, and tomorrow the guys, inspired by the works written during the plein air in the ancient city, will begin to take entrance exams. There are many plans. We will develop new projects, guys studying various arts will be inspired by artifacts from Chersonese, which can become both nature for creating masterpieces and exhibits. We have already begun our joint activities with a wonderful exhibition “Russian Atlantis”. There is a huge number of common projects ahead, because together with the museum-reserve we are part of the Tauric Chersonese historical and archaeological park, created on behalf of the President of Russia, with the financial and organizational support of the My History Foundation and with the blessing of the Patriarchal Council for Culture— shared the director of the Sevastopol Children’s Art School Maria Kostevich.

We are confident that the document signed today will be the beginning of a long-term and fruitful cooperation between the museum-reserve and the school of arts. Recall that the first experience of joint activity was the exhibition «Russian Atlantis» following the results of the 115th creative expedition of the plein air exhibition project of the same name. Now the works of artists delight visitors to the Sevastopol Children’s Art School, giving them the opportunity to admire the unforgettable views of Tauric Chersonese.
