Congratulations from the Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergei Aksenov on the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Congratulations to Orthodox Christians on the great holiday of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary!
The Church calls this event the beginning of our Salvation. It is symbolic that it was on this day, September 8 (21), 1380, that the troops of Prince Dmitry Donskoy won a victory on the Kulikovo Field. At the direction of the widow of Prince Evdokia, the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary on Senya was built — the oldest architectural monument of the Moscow Kremlin that has survived to the present day.
We, like our ancestors, believe that Russia is under the special protection of the Most Holy Theotokos, that Her Protection extends over our country.
According to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’, Rus’ stood firm under the onslaught of the enemy because it preserved its language, its faith, its culture. This is the basis of the existence of our Fatherland.
May this bright holiday fill our souls with faith, hope and love! — says the congratulations from the Head of the Republic.
